The Denver Music Summit took place on December 9th and 10th at the Bluebird Theater and The Curtis Hotel in Denver Colorado. The event included a symposium and one-one discussions with of government officials, academics and music promoters and management not only from Denver, but other more established “music towns” – Nashville, Austin, and Santa Fe to name a few.
I was invited to include a collection of portraits of local Denver musicians for the event during the Friday events at the Curtis Hotel to help showcase the vibrancy and variety of faces who make up today’s Denver Sound.
Colleagues Ryan Stubbs, Bryce Merrill, Heather Browne, and Storm Gloor were all organizers and participants in the event aimed at fostering Denver’s “creative economy.” Even the Governor-elect and the current Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper got in on the action and gave the attendees his 2¢ on the importance of Denver’s music community. Not a bad lineup of passionate and informed music fans, performers and supporters.
