This axe has a ghost etching that reads American Ax Glassport. The American Axe & Tool Company existed in several incarnations, and in many locations throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. The Glassport Pennsylvania era was between 1889-1921. This particular old timer was cleaned and hung on a 28″ American Hickory straight haft, hot charred on an open flamed, and stained with a red blaze.
